Walsall FC / Saddlers Learning Centre

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Last week Chris and I were lucky enought to go and judge a competition at Walsall Football Club where groups of 10/11 year olds came up with new flavours of ice creams, posters, labels, hats and then presented them to us. It is fair to say we were blown away with the standard of all the presentations, art work and flavours and it was nearly impossible to choose a winner. In the end the Chilli Chocolate was the winner and we have groups from two schools coming here to the farm to make some ice cream and pot it up etc. Well done to EVERYONE.

All singing, all dancing!

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Hi and welcome to the first news post of churchfields website version 2.0, as lead web developer I thought I would talk a little about the new site. Here is how it went down…

The original brief was for a web 2.0 user centric website, ok ice cream fans what that means in non techno geek language is a really easy to use web site that has all the bells and whistles people expect from a modern site. What am I talking about? I’m sure you have all heard of twitter, what about flickr? or bloging? well the new churchfields web experience has them all. (not to mention some funky extras) What this means is that crazed ice cream addicts will know exactly what churchfields are doing, where they are doing it and even how they are doing it.

So how did the site come about? Well we (JellyPhish) were contracted to design and build the site architecture, but along with this we decided to get a little help from the guys at Dot. Dot are a south coast design agency who have churned out some great bespoke designs in the past, these caught our attention so after a few ‘meetings’ (eating ice cream at the farm) Dot were asked to come up with a contemporary graphical concept which we could run throughout the site, I think you will all agree they came up with a really slick looking design which adds so much depth to the underlying technology.

Anyway who wants to hear from a computer geek? I’ll let you get back to enjoying the site.

Feel free to visit Dot or Jellyphish for any further info, Im off to try that honeycomb heaven flavor I have heard so much about.
